Chungking Express tells the story of a pioneer adventure to the abandoned city on a suspended cable car, here, everything is unknown and waiting to be discovered. The story is based on conflicts, including Localism vs Globalism, Obsolete, conservative vs Bold, liberal, Abandoned city vs Constructing city, Indigenous people vs Newcomers,​ and Subjectivity - embodiment vs Technology - Sublime
